Assistant Professor of Counseling

Dr. Paula Tipton is a licensed professional counselor in Colorado and Illinois, and a member of the American Counseling Association, Christian Association of Psychological Studies, and the Association of Counselor Educators & Supervisors.

Dr. Tipton earned her doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision at Regent University, earned a MA in Christian Thought and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She has taught at Colorado Christian University and served as adjunct professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Northwestern University, and Nyack. She also served as a clinical supervisor for The Family Institute at Northwestern University.

Dr. Tipton is the founder and clinical director of Sojourner Center for Counseling, Inc., a private practice clinic, where she sees clients and has supervised novice clinicians for nearly 20 years.

Prior to becoming a professional counselor, Dr. Tipton was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 18 years where she served in Swaziland, Africa and Czechoslovakia/the Czech Republic.
