Mission of Forefront Church at Harvey Park: Helping People Find Their Way Back To God
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The lead pastor will be responsible for leading the staff, elder board and church body in carrying out the purpose and vision of Forefront Church at Harvey Park. Our intent is that the lead pastor will give leadership and oversight to the church, leaders and staff. These essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Working Relationships, Shepherding and Discipleship, Leading/Vision, Leadership Acumen, Evangelism, Growth and Self-Development, Education/Theology.
Lead Pastor responsible for 2 Sunday morning services
Accountable to the Elder Board
Accountable for directing the staff: onboarding, hires/fires, oversight of daily activities, ongoing staffing needs
Affiliation with ABC and Converge
Define engagement with congregation and ministry directors
Shepherding and Discipleship-
Oversee pastoral care ministry leadership
Actively partner with and engage LifeGroups
Discipling/teaching the leaders of the church
Lead and model one-on-one discipleship; for example, Anatomy of a Disciple
Mentor emerging leaders in the church
Growth and development--be a mentee
Continually clarify and highlight the vision of the church through the worship experience and lead staff and ministry directors to regularly communicate the same vision.
Ongoing evaluation of the implementation and effectiveness of the priorities addressed in Forefront’s vision, work with the elders, staff, and ministry directors to identify “course corrections” when needed
Lead elders and ministry directors in vision discernment and in long-range and short-term planning and execution of their tasks by consulting, advising, coordinating, and evaluating.
Provide vision, leadership, and support to help assist in equipping the church to carry out its ongoing ministry
Engages with the staff, Elder Board, and Dream Team to fulfill Forefront Church at Harvey Park’s mission
Lead with a servant's heart and serve the leadership within Forefront Church at Harvey Park as Christ modeled
Be willing to work through difficult situations/critical conversations with reconciliation and restoration as the goal
Provide strategic leadership and planning
Serve as President of the Elder Board
Provide evangelistic, ethical, and discipleship training for staff, volunteers, and members
Plan, promote, and serve as the leader in seeking to reach non believers through training, example and encouragement.
Support and evaluate existing outreach ministries.
Provide leadership to the leaders to continually live out our mission through expanding the participation of both believers and nonbelievers
Growth and Self-Development-
With a networking mentality, actively associate with other leaders in local Faith communities
Participate in a LifeGroup at Forefront Church at Harvey Park
Intentionally enhance personal leadership skills; be a life-long learner
Set aside time for prayer, time in the Word, personal reading and research to continue to grow in your own personal relationship with Christ
Actively observe a Sabbath rest
Connects with local, state, and/or national conferences, conventions, etc.
Minimum Master's Degree from an (accredited) University/Seminary in ministry/theology preferred with pastoral experience.
Ordained or open to pursuing ordination if not already ordained) as a minister/pastor.
