General Statement of Job Function
The YAI Liaison will focus on creating and sustaining relationships with churches, assist with the design and implementation of innovative ministries that support and enrich the lives of young adults in the Denver area. The Liaison will also conduct ethnographic and/or qualitative research. This position requires a collaborative envisioning, planning, building, and implementation of the Young Adult Initiative (YAI) over a one to three-year period as defined by the Lilly Grant.
- Build new relationships with assigned partner churches.
- Build and maintain relationships with YAI fellows embedded in partner churches.
- In coordination with the YAI Director, assist church partners with the development and implementation of innovative ministries that engage young adults.
- Conduct qualitative and/or ethnographic research within assigned partner churches.
- Maintain database of program progress and results for assigned partner churches.
- Assist churches with grant reporting to the Lilly Foundation according to their requirements.
- Participate in learning events throughout the year alongside church partners and other liaisons.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experienced in project management preferred.
- Skilled in effective networking and in relationship development and maintenance.
- Committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ required and a lifestyle consistent with the Seminary’s Community Values and Behavioral Commitments.
- Agreement with Denver Seminary’s statement of faith.
- Self-motivated. Able to quickly identify and overcome obstacles with little to no supervision.
- Organized, energetic, flexible, detail-oriented and computer proficient.
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester with preference given to full-time students.
- Innovative and strategic leadership success with a goal-oriented mindset.
- Well-developed and effective communication skills with internal and external constituents.
- Recipients of YAI Liaison positions will be eligible for a tuition discount based on successful performance and fulfilling the requirements of the position AND receive an hourly wage for 10-20 hours of work per week.
- The tuition discount expires on the date the YAI Liaison stops serving in the position.
- Appointments to the YAI Liaison positions will be for one year with the possibility of annual renewals for up to three years.

- Expanded congregation partnerships will find a resource in the innovation hub of the YAI at Denver Seminary.
- Participating churches will experience a sort of renewal that impacts their entire congregations and the world.
Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
