General Statement of Job Function
The Advancement Donor Relations Work Study plays a vital role in providing administrative assistance for the identification and stewardship of donors to Denver Seminary. Reporting directly to the Director of Donor Relations, the work study is involved in various projects, including conducting research on prospective donors, ensuring prompt and thoughtful acknowledgement of gifts from donors, offering scheduling assistance for donor and student meetings, providing valuable support in donor communications, as well as handling administrative tasks related to receipting, scheduling, and miscellaneous mailings and events.
Essential Functions
- Conduct biographical donor research utilizing LinkedIn, social media, and other resources to determine linkage, interest, and ability of prospective donors to Denver Seminary
- Assist in packaging various mailing projects from the Advancement office
- Provide administrative assistance in the filing of receipts
- Provide scheduling assistance for donor and student Zoom calls
- Deliver timely expression of gratitude to donors via email, phone, or written
- Assist with donor communications including mailed appeals, birthday cards, or calling campaigns
- Write thank you notes to new donors
Secondary Functions
- Provide event support, which may include preparing materials, set-up, clean-up, and attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Training
- Exposure to fundraising principles and practices in church, higher education, or nonprofit settings is preferred
- Scheduling and administrative support experience
Qualifications
- Committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ required and a lifestyle consistent with the Seminary’s Community Values and Behavioral Commitments
- Agreement with Denver Seminary’s statement of faith
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices
- Appreciation for Seminary mission and understanding of how this role has an impact on donor perceptions

Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Normal office working conditions including computer usage, walking, long periods of standing, climb stairs, balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
