JOB TITLE: Assistant Director, PhD Program, Counseling Division
REPORTS TO: Ph.D. Program Chair
TITLE IX ROLE: Responsible Reporter

The Assistant Director, PhD Program, Counseling Division, will oversee the day to day operations of the PhD Program under the supervision of the Ph.D. Program Chair. This person will be responsible for creating an effectively run PhD program that will function efficiently. This individual will create and develop the procedures and structures for a brand new Counselor Education and Supervision PhD program that will grow and expand effectively and efficiently. This will include working in collaboration with Counseling Division staff including the Ph.D. Program Chair, Associate Dean, Clinical Training Director, Counseling Administrative Director, and Personal Formation Director to develop, implement, and expand this new Denver Seminary program.

• Design and create the processes and procedures necessary to implement operations of the PhD program.
• Successfully participate as a highly effective member of the Counseling Division Operations Team working with the Counseling Division staff.
• Oversee the day to day functions of applicant interviews, personal formation processes, clinical training functions, and program processes.
• Effectively collaborate and engage with other departments, including Admissions, Educational Technology, Registrar’s office, Library staff, and MA programs staff to efficiently create and implement program components of an effective PhD program.
• Supervise the PhD Graduate Assistants in their work, assist the Personal Formation Director (PFA Direct Supervisor) in overseeing the Personal Formation Advisor, and assist the Clinical Training Director (ACTD Direct Supervisor) in overseeing the Assistant Clinical Training Director.
• Provide primary administration of the following PhD program operational systems:
1) Application process
2) Interview process
3) Internship process development
4) Program expansion
5) Personal Formation processes
6) Clinical Training processes
7) Online Program transition development
8) Counseling Student Assessment Team processes
9) Student Retention processes
10) Budgetary planning and assessment , including being a cost center manager

• M.A. in Counseling
• Experience with higher education programming and administration
• Experience working in management roles
• Strong team interaction skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

• Advanced clinical experience
• Experience in supervising clinical work
• CO License eligible
• Oversight and management of higher education programs
• Mentoring experience
• Knowledge of CACREP standards

• Extensive systems management abilities
• Operations management success
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
• Ability to supervision operations and staff members
• Ability to manage budgets

• Curating the number of students influenced with a goal of 24 students per cohort each year.
• Providing consistently good customer services to our internal and external constituencies.
• A highly efficiently run PhD program

All Employees will cooperate with internal investigations (such as Title IX or workplace issues) and with any legal proceedings (administrative, licensing, or court). Employees with administrative responsibilities may have additional responsibilities for leadership and active participation with any legal proceedings involving the Seminary.

Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
