Mr. Johnson began his career teaching in 2002 at a private Christian high school in Troy, Ohio. In 2005, he transitioned from the on-campus to the online classroom, developing courses and teaching online students for the next eight years.
While working on his master’s degree, he joined the Educational Technology department at Denver Seminary, providing technical and instructional design support to the Faculty. His master’s project explored how to create and cultivate formative experiences for students in the online environment.
He is the author of Excellent Online Teaching, a succinct and practical guide to online teaching, and Teaching with Zoom: Online Teaching and Training with Videoconferencing. Mr. Johnson is also the founder and editor of Dayhikes Near Denver, a local online hiking guide.
He lives in Castle Rock, Colorado with his wife, Jenah and their two daughters.
