Carey Thomas Christian Leadership Endowment Scholarship

Named after Dr. Carey S. Thomas, who served as the first president of Denver Seminary from 1951 to 1955, this scholarship recognizes a student, or students, who exemplify Biblical leadership and Christian character on the campus and in the community – following the legacy of Carey S. Thomas.

“In 2012, my wife and I launched Urban Outreach Denver, which is a dinner church that meets on Thursday nights in the Five Points neighborhood of inner city Denver. God’s calling upon our lives is to reach the marginalized community. Each week, with the help of volunteers from across the Denver metro area, we feed about 100 people, share in conversations about Jesus, and preach God’s Word. We also run a Monday night dinner church called Little Rascals for kids, in its third year.

It would not be possible for me to pursue a graduate degree without the help of this scholarship. I feel this is an answer to prayer and is also God granting me the desires of my heart because it has been my dream to earn a Master of Divinity. Thank you.”
