Overview
The position requires commitment, compassion, discretion and confidentiality. The Office Administrator is an unique position that often offers the first impression of the church to the community. An average work week will be 20 hours weekly, 8:30 am -12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The Office Administrator works under the supervision of the Pastor/Head of Staff.
Responsibilities:
- Able to produce weekly quality work in a deadline driven environment.
- Able to provide support to various elders/deacon, facilities, and staff as requested.
- Ability to update website and other social media as needed.
- Ability to design program layouts of worship services or other events as requested, using power point and/or other electronic media
- Produce publication of weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, and annual report as directed
- Maintain online monthly events calendar.
- Oversee the use of the church facilities by coordinating and scheduling building use by church and non-church groups, obtain completed paperwork and fees from non-church groups
- Maintain accuracy of various materials or documents (i.e.), phone directories, attendance records, mailing/contact lists. and packets for Inquirers Class, etc.).
- Routing pastoral requests on illness, deaths, etc. to appropriate groups (i.e.), Pastor, prayer chain, and Deacons).
- Perform general office duties including preparing annual office budget, maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies for office, church activities, etc.
- Distribute building keys to appropriate users and maintain key log.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Above average knowledge using a variety of software and Internet services is a must, (i.e.) Microsoft Suite, Adobe, PowerPoint, website apps, and Outlook, and Google Apps.
Qualifications:
- Excellent computer skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good phone skills – a cheerful and diplomatic demeanor are necessary
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional grammar, typography, and proofreading skills
- Ability to keep accurate records and an organized file system.
- Able to pass a background check.
