Associate and Assistant Pastors

Associate Pastor

Calvary Baptist Church
Posted: 10/06/2021
Salary/Range: $58,000-$68,000 plus benefits
Ellensburg, WA

We as the local church function well when the members of the body are working together in unity, building one another up, and proclaiming the gospel through godly lives and faithful witness. This requires a mindset and lifestyle, a way of being, in which individuals and families minister to one another as they are separately and corporately transformed by the renewing of their minds. Much like a physical body consumes healthy food to function properly, so the Christian receives biblical teaching and interpersonal ministering and is strengthened to serve others, in increasing measure, as a member of one body for the glory of God.

The associate pastor will work with the elders and lead pastor in the care of the congregation through gathered worship, preaching God’s Word, administering the ordinances, fostering fellowship, leading in discipleship, and providing pastoral care of the church body.  The associate pastor reports to the council of elders and the lead pastor whereby the performance and ministry objectives will be reviewed by the lead pastor as needed and annually as a part of the evaluation process by the elders.

The goals of this position are to support the church’s vision for the full-orbed ministry of the local church.  This would include working to plan and organize service and outreach events, provide guidance and administration to the work of the church, motivate and train individuals toward spiritual maturity, and to otherwise seek ways to advance God’s kingdom and impact our community and world to the glory of God.
