Ministry Purpose

You are invited to join our ministry family as we enjoy God and life together, where we expect more for you than from you, and out of that overflow to prayerfully and collaboratively build, innovate, develop, shepherd and lead a college/young adult ministry composed of College (age 18-24, attending college or not) and Young Adults (age 25-34) to become a caring community passionate about loving God and loving others.

Ministry Responsibilities

We are excited to discover with you how God might lead us together as a ministry family in these things, which we shall pray about and pursue and plan together, which include, but are not limited to:

College Campus Connections

  • Develop relationships with key campus staff in order to open relationships with students.


Flagship Events

  • Innovate significant experiences for connection and spiritual growth, such as retreats and conferences.


Small Groups

  • In collaboration with the Equipping Ministries team, build life-changing small groups where young adults can grow in their relationship with Jesus and one another.

Multigenerational Mentoring

  • Recruit and develop a team of mentors for both College and Young Adults ministries, faithful men and women who are open and authentic about themselves and their experiences, willing to share their life with another.


Missional Pursuits

  • In alignment with our church’s Missional Living ministries, cast a passionate vision for meaningful mission with clear opportunities for serving others inside and outside our church.


Leadership Teams and Mentors

  • Building Ministry Partners who serve, lead, and mentor young adults in relational discipleship, one-on-one and in small groups.


Preaching and Teaching

  • As a unified part of the contemporary service preaching team, collaborate on the planning and preaching of sermon series.
  • Prepare for opportunities as needed to teach classes and facilitate small groups.


General Pastoral Ministry Responsibilities

  • Forecast, budget, and obtain appropriate approvals in order to fund the ministry.
  • Provide ongoing ministry evaluation considering the overall church strategy and ministry.
  • Actively engage in strategic ministry planning with the Equipping Ministries team, and interdepartmentally as needed.
  • Be aware of recovery ministry needs in the young adult ministry and as needed proactively engage in collaboration with our Care Ministries team.
  • Care for and nurture this area of ministry as well as shared churchwide pastoral care (phone and web inquiries, pastoral guidance, and ministry rosters – baptism, weddings, funerals, hospital visitation, and the after-hours phone).
  • Be available by cell phone outside regular office hours.

  • Fulfill the elder qualifications in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
  • Must have the spiritual gifts of Pastor and Teacher, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Team builder, developer and coach.
  • Hold at least a Master’s degree in a ministry-related field from an accredited seminary.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience of demonstrated faithfulness in building and leading a local church college/young adult ministry in a large church context.
  • Able to consume and communicate digital information quickly and comfortably across various devices and platforms.
  • Experience in college campus ministry a plus.
  • Be an ordained minister or be willing to pursue ordination.
