Childcare Coordinator

Scope and Position Responsibilities

The Childcare Coordinator will create a safe, encouraging, and fun environment as well as create efficient processes for childcare on Wednesday evenings at our Englewood location, by hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising a team of 6-10 childcare workers every week. Together, they will facilitate a learning environment for children ages 0-12 on Wednesday evenings. They must have an understanding of child-development and age-appropriate activities for children, demonstrating an understanding that each child is unique and may require support in a variety of areas (socially, emotionally, physically, academically).

Major Areas of Responsibility


  • Work with the Operations Specialist to manage the child care program at CrossPurpose
  • Create safety protocols (emergency plans)
  • Maintain the computerized check in/out system
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring childcare staff
  • Operate as the first contact for childcare staff, maintaining weekly correspondence with the childcare team as well as coordinate monthly scheduling of childcare staff
  • Supervise and support childcare staff on Wednesday nights. Help with set-up and clean-up, offer support within the childcare rooms with any emergencies, injuries, challenging children behaviors, problem-solving, etc.
  • Plan & Co-lead meetings with the Operations Specialist for trainings and performance reviews for childcare staff
  • Establish interpersonal relationships through honest and open communication with staff, children, and parents
  • Help create a safe and fun environment in which both children and parents feel comfortable
  • Take proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Deep passion for the CrossPurpose mission and values
  • Professional certification, license, or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized, must be excellent with follow up and follow through
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, complete work on time and work independently
  • Employee must have a working laptop and smartphone
  • Able to be onsite and present every Wednesday from 5:15-8:15pm
  • Self-starter and ability to work effectively and efficiently while working from home for 7 hours/week


Hours, Compensation and Benefits


Hours: 10 hours/week: 7 hours working from home and 3 hours onsite on Wednesday nights 5:15-8:15pm


Wage :  $22 hourly
