Position Summary:

This position is part of a dynamic, qualified team of professionals who create, organize and execute the marketing and communications efforts of the organization. Education/Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, applicable area of study or on the job experience.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud – specifically InDesign.
  • Skilled at back-end work on WordPress websites.
  • Experience with project management using Asana or similar software.
  • Experience with SEO and google analytics.
  • Experience with brand management and graphic standards.
  • Experience with copyediting.

Preferred:

  • Nonprofit experience.
  • Experience in content marketing and/or blogging.
  • Experience with Lightroom, Illustrator, photography/videography

Skills and Attitude:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that are flexible to fit a variety of platforms.
  • Excellent graphic design skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all teams; friendly, sociable.
  • Able to create compelling design and content that aligns with the organizational marketing strategy and values.
  • Ability to execute work in a fast-paced environment and organize all projects using effective communication with staff to fulfill deadlines and reach marketing goals.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to articulate oneself in a clear manner.
  • Desire to make a positive impact on the hearts and minds of the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Communications & Community Engagement.
  • Enter and build communications projects into the Asana Project management system.
  • Print, cut, fold and organize collateral; track the collateral needs of the organization.
  • Provide design and updates to collateral based on website design and copy changes.
  • Provide back-end design and website assistance and support for apromisingfuture.com and youhavealternatives.org.
  • Co-manage the brand standards of the organization and provide staff training and updates.
  • Manage the curriculum training assets in InDesign for Alternatives and A Promising Future.
  • Assist with mass email communication to volunteers and staff.
  • Provide internal updates from the communications team to the organization.
  • Create and track staff resources such as staff business cards, new employee signs and volunteer badges.

We provide a 24-Hour Helpline, pregnancy tests and options counseling, limited ultrasound services, STD testing and treatment, adoption education, pre- and post-natal medical care referrals, financial and legal referrals, counseling after abortion, positive youth development curriculum and sexual risk avoidance education. All services are provided free of charge.
