Overview of Open Door Ministries
Open Door Ministries exists to provide practical help and hope to people in urban Denver who
are homeless or low income. Our primary objective is to move people toward self-sufficiency by
helping change the circumstances and life patterns that have held them captive to poverty and
addictions. Through 18 distinct programs, we focus on tangible needs like food, shelter, access to
education and employment training, as well as intangible needs such as friendship, hope, and

Title of Position Still Waters Housing Counselor
Supervisor: Program Director
Hours: 29 hours/week
Salary: $50,713/Yr – $73,652/Yr
Job purpose
To assist the Still Waters Housing staff in bringing about change in the lives of women in the Still
Waters Housing program through individual and group counseling, with a focus on Christ.
Duties and responsibilities
● Meet with each Still Waters Housing resident (up to 14 individuals) for weekly individual
counseling sessions
● Lead a therapy group 2 evenings a month for Still Waters Housing residents
● Maintain proper documentation on all groups and individual sessions
● Engage with Still Waters Housing Staff as needed to provide suggestions or guidance from a
counseling perspective; specifically attending weekly PMT (Program Management Team)
meetings.
● Be aware of the general pulse of the residential community and communicate updates to
Still Waters Housing staff
● Coordinating with outside mental health providers in coordination with resident’s program
as needed, including psychiatrists, case managers and other mental health professionals.
This may include play therapy options for children residing in Treasure House
● All staff will be required to participate in a fundraising activity an average of one hour per
week (see staff handbook for more details.)
● Be available for crisis intervention and follow-up, with the help of Still Waters Housing staff
● Will attend the following meetings
o ODM monthly staff meetings
● All ODM staff are required to attend Open Door Fellowship Church or Westside Church
Internacional
o Part-time = 3 months or 12 times, whichever comes last
o Full-time = 6 months or 24 times, whichever comes last
Qualifications
● LPC or LCSW preferred. Masters in Counseling or Social Work required. Must be registered in
Colorado database (“DORA”) and pursuing licensure. Will have to obtain clinical supervision
for licensure hours.
● Previous experience in individual and group counseling practices
● Previous experience with addictions and trauma counseling preferred
● Show respect for the leadership and members of the Open Door community
● Familiar with Microsoft Office
