PURPOSE OF POSITION

To glorify God by developing and leading the worship experience for the church, in consultation with the lead pastor and other team members, in a way that is consistent with the mission, values, and theology of Ridgeline Community Church (RCC).  This position is also responsible for the church AVL systems and outreach programs.

MINISTRY SUMMARY

The Worship Minister reports to, works with and is accountable to the Lead Pastor. The Minister of Worship is responsible to lead the congregation in worship. The Minister of Worship is responsible for training and shepherding worship team members, overseeing portions of the services, and all aspects of AVL systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the outreach ministry of the church.

5.  Ability to develop teams, delegate, and empower others on the church’s mission.

6.  Ability to work with and maintain positive relationships with worship team members, staff, the larger church body, and our community. 

7.  Ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.

8.  A love for the people and a desire to help draw them to Jesus.

9. A passion to learn and develop in the areas of music, AVL technology and outreach.

10. Courage to take risks and challenge the congregation to deepen their worship experience and commitment, but also a willingness and humility to embrace RCC and its mission.

EXPERIENCE

Minister of Worship required experience in areas of worship leadership, service production, AVL systems, and administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Worship Services:

  1. In corroboration with the Lead Pastor, select songs and arrangements for worship services that convey the gospel message. This includes Sunday worship and all other services scheduled.
  2. Promote a comprehensive worship atmosphere through music selection.
  3.  Oversee all areas of production, including audio, lighting, presentation slides, service leadership, equipment maintenance and online presentation.

Worships Teams:

  1. Empower and encourage instrumentalists, vocalists, and production team members.
  2. Ensure that teams are provided with necessary resources and prepared to serve in all worship experiences.
  3. Shepherd staff and volunteers serving in the music ministry of RCC.
  4. Lead worship for special services and outreach events.
  5. Coordinate resources and personnel for the above area.

AVL:

  1. Oversee all AVL needs of RCC.  
  2. Will lead and/or oversee volunteers in the area of technology.

Outreach:

  1. Will lead and/or oversee outreach programs, events, and volunteers.
  2. Work alongside the Director of Children, Director of Youth, and other ministry teams in programs such as VBS as requested.
  3. Explore and develop new strategies for outreach through RCC.

Other Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Work alongside the Lead Pastor in the long-term planning of message series.
  2. Attend regular meetings with leadership teams.
  3. Additional leadership responsibilities as assigned by Lead Pastor.

COMPENSATION

This is a full-time position. Competitive salary and benefit specifics will be provided in the interview process. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
