Description:

Bridge of Hope is ending homelessness for single mothers and their children in the Greater Denver Area. As a Christian nonprofit, Bridge of Hope is committed to loving our neighbors, equipping the Church to serve families facing homelessness, and transforming the lives of struggling families with real supports that enable them to go from homelessness to stability.

In recent years, Bridge of Hope has experienced rapid expansion, growing from serving three families in a year to thirty families in 2022. The Bridge of Hope team is highly competent, experienced, and motivated. Staff operate with a high level of autonomy and are given the support and resources to succeed. Bridge of Hope is currently seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Knowledge, experience, and skills in working with families facing homelessness.
  • Proven fundraising experience.
  • Ability to develop and provide leadership to strategic planning.
  • Experience with budget management and financial operations.
  • Personnel management experience that includes a positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both presentation and written.
  • Skills and ability to work collaboratively with the community, funders, and partner organizations.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • An understanding of and a commitment to the mission of Bridge of Hope Greater Denver. To engage Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love.
  • Active member of a Christian congregation that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, with a strong personal faith experience.
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license and availability of a vehicle.

Position Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, fundraising, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include community outreach, church relations, and marketing.

Hours: 40 hours/week; flexible schedule, must be available some weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities:

Organizational Mission

  • Assumes full responsibility, as directed by the Board of Directors, for implementing and executing policies, procedures, and actions of the Board.
  • Provides values-based leadership; works with the Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community collaboration.
  • Communicates a compelling and inspired vision; works closely with team members to ensure the implementation of Bridge of Hope Greater Denver’s strategic plan and mission.
  • Facilitates continuous progress by developing short- and long-term strategic planning processes and evaluating progress toward goals.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with public, private, faith based, philanthropic, and nonprofit stakeholders; utilizes those relationships to strategically enhance Bridge of Hope Greater Denver’s mission.

Operations and Administration:

  • Works with the team to supervise, hire, train, review, and provide direction and problem-solving assistance to staff; provides coaching and opportunities for professional development. Guides employment and administrative policies and procedures while also promoting and supporting team culture and a positive work environment.
  • Acts as liaison between Board of Directors and staff members.
  • Engage with Bridge of Hope National by providing necessary data and information, attending the annual conference, and participating in other learning opportunities. 
  • Oversees fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of Bridge of Hope Greater Denver in a positive financial position; provides regular financial reporting to the Board; prepares the annual budget in collaboration with the finance committee.
  • Coordinates professional services as specified by the board (i.e. accountant, lawyer, etc.).
  • Builds partnership with community nonprofits, businesses, and services providers to ensure the needs of Bridge of Hope families are met and further the mission of the organization.
  • Oversees and leads in the implementation of the Bridge of Hope program including, but not limited to:
    • Screening potential families and working with the family intake committee to conduct interviews.  
    • Recruiting, developing, and maintaining relationships with groups of Neighboring Volunteers through training and supportive services.
    • Facilitating an appropriate match between participating families and groups of Neighboring Volunteers. Ensure that volunteers are kept up to date on the progress and needs of their family.
    • Coordinating housing resources.
    • Ensuring that each family receives regular case management services.

Development/Fundraising:

  • Leads development manager and committee members to cultivate relationships with current and potential Bridge of Hope Greater Denver donors.  Encourages financial support of Bridge of Hope Greater Denver through contacts with Christian faith communities, businesses, community organizations, and individuals.
  • Oversees short-term and long-term development strategies to ensure the sustainability of the organization. 
  • Writes and supports a grant-writing contractor in the development of proposals for grants from private funding sources.
  • Oversees the planning of fund-raising events.  Attendance at these fund-raising events is required.

Christian Faith Community and Public Relations:

  • Presents Bridge of Hope’s program to Christian faith communities and community organizations through community meetings and public speaking opportunities.
  • Serves as an ambassador for spreading the word about Bridge of Hope’s larger network.
  • Establishes and maintains inter-agency communication.
  • Oversees marketing efforts including a monthly newsletter.
  • Attends relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars for additional training and/or to educate the community about Bridge of Hope Greater Denver.
  • Oversees the planning and designing of promotional materials.

Other responsibilities, as deemed necessary by the Board Chair, to fulfill the mission of Bridge of Hope Greater Denver.

Compensation: $75,000+ per year, commensurate with experience
