POSITION SUMMARY

At Hello Garage, our mission is to transform garages and create remarkable customer experiences. As a General Manager, you will help to redefine this unique industry by leading the day-to-day operations of the business. You will also lead, manage, and hold the team accountable, providing vision, strategy, and goals in order to meet and exceed customer expectations and make the company profitable. This position is exempt under the FLSA and reports to the company’s owner.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, Manage, and Hold the Team Accountable
    •  Provide clear direction and regular feedback to the team
    •  Show appreciation to the team
    •  Listen and answer team questions and concerns
    •  Set, share, and track key performance indicators with team members
    •  Meet with the Team Lead to explain each proposal in detail
    •  Ensure work is done safely, correctly, and efficiently to company standards
  • Finance and P&L
    • Payroll
      • Become knowledgable with Payroll software
      • Set up new employees in Payroll system
      • Asisst employees with clocking in and cut checks bi-monthly
    • Team with owner to build yearly budget for franchise and make adjustments as necessary to ensure profitability
    • Regularly review the company’s financial statements and pay bills
    • Work with our Bookeeper to reconcile monthly books
  • Get Work.
    • Ensure the install team is equipped to perform installs 
      • Visit jobs on site when necessary to supervise or help complete the job
    • Maintain Inventory levels
      • Complete monthly and as-needed ordering of supplies for upcoming jobs
    • Perform pre-appointment phone calls 72-48 hours in advance
    • Drive to customers’ homes on pre-scheduled appointments and arrive on time 
    • Follow the Hello Garage sales process
    • Build professional rapport with the customer and determine their Customer Why and desired outcome 
    • Close the sale with the customer 
    • Maintain your sales pipeline. Follow up with customers and potential customers as needed
    • Meet or exceed your projected monthly Average Dollar Per Appointment (ADA) 
  • Events
    • Home Show & Events – Research and Schedule:
      • Commit to and provide payment for events and Home Shows
      • Schedule the team to set up, work, and tear down Home Shows and events
      • Attend Events and Home Shows with the team when necessary
      • Hit lead goals as determined in partnership with you and the Owner
  • Marketing
    • Identify and implement marketing opportunities that will drive customer awareness, including but not limited to: 
      • Yard Signs & Door Hangers – Design, order, and distribute
      • EDDM – Design and order flyers and drop at selected post offices
      • Social Media strategy
        • Instagram & Facebook content and schedule
        • Facebook & Google ads 
      • Manage Angi Leads and CN paybacks
      • Research and capitalize on billboard/radio advertising 
  • Repair Work
    • Keep all machinery, equipment, and vehicles in working and maintained condition
    • Conduct repairs and replacement when needed
  • Create Remarkable Customer Experiences
    •    Maintain a high standard of professionalism in appearance, words, and actions
    •    Show respect for the customer and their property
    •    Meet or exceed the customer’s expectations
    •    Audit all installations and review customer feedback
    •    Timely resolve all customer issues
  • Build and Maintain Culture
    • Post Role Descriptions, Recruit, Interview candidates
    • Onboard and train new hires (ie. Order onboarding swag & supplies, lead impactful staff meetings, etc.)
  • Lead Company Culture and Communication
    • Host a weekly L10 meeting
    • Host a weekly Sales > Install Handoff meeting
    • Communicate all pertinent information to the team and Owner related to all areas of business outlined in this document
    • Encourage and lead team morale

  • Demonstrate Regular, Reliable Attendance

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of construction or related trades
  • Knowledge of management principles and practices  
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and programs 
  • Skill in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to move about and move to/from and work from the floor level
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience with B2C sales, ideally in a Sales Manager or General Manager (non-retail) role 
  • A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
