Responsibilities:
– Provide a safe, nurturing classroom while collaborating with either a Co-teacher or Assistant
Teacher.
– Implement Performance/Quality Standards, and Licensing regulations.
– Provide direct positive supervision and gentle guidance to assigned children.
– Plan, organize, and oversee implementation of Faith based curriculum that is developmentally,
culturally, and linguistically appropriate for Infants/Toddlers and/or Preschoolers.
– Assist in developmentally appropriate lesson plan activities that are based on each child’s needs,
strengths, and interests.
– In collaboration with staff, coordinate the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and
learning environment of the classroom including housekeeping, planning, and preparation of
classroom.
– Ensure completion of developmental assessments & transitional forms.
– Monitor, implement, and ensure adherence to program confidentiality.
– Provide positive feedback to parents through the ProCare app for parents & staff.
– Serve lunch, am snack & pm snack (children bring all their own food items).
– Participate in routine drills and inspections of center facilities for health, safety, fire, and
occupancy compliance and take necessary corrective action.
– Facilitate effective conflict resolution and follow complaint procedure; maintain appropriate
documentation.
– Attend all required meetings, trainings and in-services as required/outlined in staff manual.
– Maintain a positive work environment, and strong work ethic.
– Willingness to refer parents to any and all Church related resources and events.
– Order and replenish approved materials, consumables and supplies as needed.
Additional requirements:
– Comfortable using software and computer applications related to parent communication.
– Ability to see at normal distance. Hear normal conversations and sounds. Ability to lift
Infant/toddlers children up to thirty-five pounds. Ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist,
kneel and/or stoop down 75% of the time.
– Must complete the required online trainings related to: Safe Sleep (infants only), Shaken Baby
Syndrome, Mandated Reporter, Standard Precautions, and Medication Administration, First Aid
& CPR (renew upon expiration).
– Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of training per year in the area of Early Childhood
Education, with at least 3 hours pertaining to Social Emotional Development (the above
certificates may not count towards these hours).
– Must submit/receive a physical examination, criminal record background checks, and drug
screen upon request.
