Kids Director
The Heights Kids Director (Part-Time – 1/2)
Objective: The Heights Church is a 5-year-old growing church of families and young professionals in the heart of Denver. The Heights Kids Director will fulfill the vision of the Heights Kids to partner with parents to help kids know and follow Jesus by (1) creating a fun and safe weekend experience that leads kids to love Jesus and his church and (2) connecting and equipping parents to form their kids in the ways of Jesus.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Demonstrates spiritual maturity
- Ability to lead volunteers and families
- Ability to create a fun and safe environment for kids
- Ability to recruit and coordinate large numbers of volunteers
- Ability to teach
- Good people skills
- Supervising/management experience (preferred)
- Kids experience (preferred)
- A team player willing to do what is best for the Heights Church and Heights Kids
Responsibilities:
Create a Fun, Safe and Formative Weekend Experience
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for parents and kids
- Make it easy and safe for parents to check kids in and out
- Update and maintain kids space
- Build a team that fosters fun, safety and spiritual formation
- Take and communicate attendance
- Stay up-to-date on kids’ safety policies and work to ensure compliance
Recruit, Equip and Manage Volunteers
- Recruit and on-board new volunteers (training, background checks, etc).
- Schedule volunteers weekly
- Lead team gatherings on Sundays
- Create an environment where volunteers feel equipped, valued and appreciated
Organize and Prepare Weekly Curriculum
- Plan and distribute weekly age-appropriate curriculum for large group and classrooms
- Teach and develop teachers for large group
Connect and Equip Parents
- Communicate with new and current families
- Stay up-to-date on important information related to The Heights Church and Heights Kids
- Connect parents with resources to help them form their kids in the way of Jesus
Reach into the Community
- Plan and coordinate kids-related events and outreaches (Ex: Mother’s Day/Father’s Day, Parent Commissionings)
- Organize and implement events to reach into the community outside the church (VBS)
- Schedule childcare for all-church events
Relationships within the Heights Team:
- I receive input from: Pastor of Formation
- I lead: Heights Kids Volunteers
Accountability: Monthly 1-on-1 with supervisor
Compensation:
- Pay:
- Available upon request
- Time Off/Sick Days
- Based upon experience and tenure
- No more than 4 Sundays off per year (not including Sundays of rest)
