Meet Ridge Point Church:

The Ridge Point Church began with a core group of believers who felt called to launch a church that would be committed to providing a ministry and services that would reach people who were unchurched, de-churched, and had yet to follow Jesus as rescuer and leader.

Today, located on 160 acres of land in an ideal setting and an auditorium that seats 1,400 people, Ridge Point has truly become a regional church. Through an  intentional church-planting strategy, they have planted 2 other family churches and 12 partner churches that have a total attendance of 5,500. They have a big vision for future church planting opportunities.

With amazing facilities, vibrant ministries, wise and godly leadership and community of believers who are committed to Christ and to the mission and vision of the church, they continue to serve and reach their area through ministries like a world-class  preschool, an outdoor amphitheater where they host summer concerts for the community, and they are in the process of building a 10-acre farm in partnership with Kids Food Basket to provide food for the under-resource in their community.

About the Lead Pastor:

–The Lead Pastor of the Ridge Point Church serves the church by providing spiritual leadership, impactful teaching and is committed to knowing and connecting with the people of the church and larger community.

–The Lead Pastor has a passion for evangelism and challenges others to be disciple makers. The person works collaboratively to align strategies and ministries to accomplish the church mission and vision.

–The Lead Pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Biblical revelation, effectively communicate the church’s vision and fervently pray for the church and its mission.

The Lead Pastor’s Responsibilities Include: 

MAIN TEACHING PASTOR AND COMMUNICATOR

• • Has a love for God’s word and the integrity of Scripture. Spends time studying and praying, seeking the Holy Spirit’s direction and discernment to accurately interpret scripture.

  • Through teaching and leadership, the Lead Pastor is the catalyst for movement within the church— helping to ensure that people are Following Jesus and Fearlessly Making Him Known.

• Is able to connect passages and themes in scripture to people’s daily lives making the connection between current culture and biblical teachings in an inspiring and moving way.

• Teach in the main worship gatherings and various other settings, including serving within a rotation with other Lead Pastors to teach at other Fearless Family Churches throughout the year.

• Participate on the Teaching Team, including providing theologically sound thoughts and input to church- wide sermon series.

• Participate in the teaching and worship gathering teams for planning and implementation.

SHEPHERDING AND CONNECTION

• Models the characteristics of Jesus in their daily rhythms and practices.

• The Lead Pastor will love and show care for the people of the church, connecting with them in a genuine, compassionate, and challenging way.

• Pray with and for all staff members and lead volunteers on a regular basis and hold them accountable for personal spiritual and ministerial growth (self-development plan).

• Be available to serve the church as a pastoral counselor and on-call minister in collaboration with the Shepherding Elders.

LEADING AND COLLABORATION

• The Fearless Family of Churches is a highly collaborative environment. The Lead Pastor will lead RP’s staff and volunteers by owning and executing the mission and vision of the Fearless Family of Churches.

• The Lead Pastor will genuinely own and promote the mission and vision of the Fearless Family of Churches (https://fearlessfollower.org/whatwedo/) and continually provide input on ministry strategy and execution.

SHAPE NETWORK CHURCH CULTURE & ALIGNS WITH THE OVERALL CHURCH MISSION/VISION

• Serves and collaborates with other Lead Pastors and Support Service members.

• Contextualize church-wide goals to our network church and report against these goals weekly, quarterly and annually.

• Implements and helps to refine the Fearless church strategy of Gather, Group Go.

• Participates in Proclaim, a church planting network, to help fulfill the vision of the Fearless Family of Churches.

• Models and helps to move people to become fully devoted Fearless Followers of Jesus — Respond, Relate, Reach, Restore, Replicate (https://fearlessfollower.org/whatwedo/).

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Executive Pastor

• Provides regular progress reports to the Senior Pastor and other leadership staff.

• Reports quarterly to the Lead Elders of the Fearless Family of Churches.

• Leads the Advisory Team, volunteer leaders made up of Ridge Point Fearless Followers that provides recommendations to the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.

• Participates with the Communications teams to create meaningful stories and informative strategies for connecting with Ridge Point attendees and the larger community.

• Responsible to oversee and participate in the Network Church budgeting and fundraising activities to ensure fiscal health and growth toward the vision.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

• Master of Divinity required.

• At least seven-years of teaching experience.

• Proven five-year collaborative work style on church staff.

What it’s Like to Live in Holland, MI: 

Holland, Michigan is a city located in the western part of the state, on the shores of Lake Michigan, and less than 30 miles to Grand Rapids—Michigan’s 2nd largest city. Holland has a population of around 33,000 people and it is known for its Dutch heritage and the annual tulip festival.
