Senior/Lead Pastors
Lead Pastor
First Baptist Church (Oxford, PA) – Pastor
The Big Picture
First Baptist Church (fbcoxford.org) is seeking a pastor to lead our congregation
The Church
An independent church in the Baptist tradition, we have a long history of supporting both local and global ministries. The Oxford Lighthouse reaches out to local children and youth. Some of these students currently receive homework help and worship with us. Public schools for Grades K-8 are within walking distance of the church–which is ideal for after school activities. Our education building holds 14 classrooms. There is also a Christian school nearby, and others within a half hour. Lincoln University and Cecil University are a few miles away, and the University of Delaware, Lancaster Bible College and West Chester University are about an hour. We use both traditional and contemporary music in our worship service which has on average 45 in attendance.
The Community
The small borough of Oxford is midway between Philadelphia, PA and Baltimore, MD. The surrounding area contains farms (including the Amish community) and residential areas. Housing developments and retirement communities have generated a population increase. The community is culturally diverse. Oxford’s “First Friday” events, such as the annual car show, draw people from a wider area and can be a vehicle for outreach.
The Candidate
The candidate will have a Biblically-driven philosophy of ministry and a pulpit ministry characterized by strong expository preaching and teaching skills. He must be in full agreement with our Statement of Fath. The church has had 6 pastors since 1956, 5 of them have been been first time pastorates.
The Process
Please look over this job description and the church website. Along with your resume please answer these questions:
Why do you believe that you might be a good fit as the Pastor at FBC?

In just a few sentences please give a summary of your theology and how that is in line with the doctrine of FBC?
