Your role

Mobile Meal Pack Director at Lifeline Christian Mission
Full time position

Who we are

At Lifeline Christian Mission, we mobilize, develop and empower people and communities, both locally and globally. Our ultimate vision is that people are sparked to live on mission for God!  To accomplish this, we walk alongside community leaders to develop opportunities that align with their needs and that reflect God’s love. What does that look like? This could be educating youth, developing leaders, planting churches, educating a community around health care, creating housing opportunities, customizing local service projects, sending teams on mission trips, and so much more!

We are a non-profit organization serving internationally and throughout the U.S.A. When you become part of Lifeline’s team, you connect with established and growing ministries around the world who are sharing God’s love and truth in their communities!

About the team you serve on

The Mobile Meal Pack Team is passionate about connecting people to serve God by packing shelf-stable meals. These events take place in churches, businesses, and community organizations in the Midwest and throughout the U.S.A. Meal pack events are a unique opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to work together to help meet food insecurity, both in their community and around the world. These finished meals are then shipped globally or shared locally with mission organizations.

About the role

The Mobile Meal Pack Director is a key role in implementing meal pack events, both behind the scenes and at events. While overseeing and organizing events are a major part of the role, the director is also the “face” of Lifeline at events to share Lifeline’s story and connect people to the ministry.

You’ll report to the Vice President of Mobile Meal Packing.

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Puts Christ first and is an active and growing disciple of Him.  A strong commitment to represent Christ and uphold high expectations of living out a personal faith of service and action toward others.
  • Is a big picture thinker who connects how meal pack events fit into Lifeline’s overall ministry.
  • Is creative, resourceful, and a fast learner with the ability to multitask, oversee multiple projects, pivot quickly and prioritize well. Along with this, excellent problem solving skills are needed with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Quality and accurate work and meets deadlines.
  • Brings a professional attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Has strong leadership skills to lead, coach, and empower team members and volunteers, and to collaborate with other teams.

How you will make a difference in the ministry (Responsibilities)

  • Growth of events: Proactively engage in conversations with churches, businesses, groups, and individuals to promote and schedule mobile meal pack events, along with encouraging additional opportunities which enhance the meal pack experience for attendees.
  • Growth of relationships: Build and sustain existing relationships for meal pack engagement with churches, individuals, businesses, and vendors and share additional opportunities within Lifeline.
  • Growth in volunteers: Oversee and train meal pack volunteers to serve in various roles, such as pre-event preparation in the warehouse and leading mobile meal pack events.
  • Growth of involvement: Recruit volunteers to serve with the mobile meal pack team and encourage increased meal pack event size with churches/businesses/etc to give more people the opportunity to serve
  • Growth of self: Serving hands-on at meal pack events locally and across the U.S.A. to oversee and coordinate events, talk about the impact of the meals, and share about Lifeline’s ministry.
  • Growth of team spirit and camaraderie: Work with fellow staff and volunteers for hands on assistance with warehouse care, organization, and inventory; utilizing pick sheets for mobile events; rental truck logistics; oversight of unloading/loading trucks and ocean freight containers; and local meal pack errands (like purchasing meal pack items)

Because when you accomplish these responsibilities, you make a huge difference for children and families who struggle with food scarcity! You enable children and families to have a healthy meal!
