  • All MVCC staff are expected to maintain a vibrant walk with Christ, establish healthy rhythms of life, support the vision, staff, and leaders in the church, demonstrate Christ-like character at all gatherings and in their personal life, receive instruction with humility, and be committed to resolving conflict in a biblical manner.
  • Bible College, seminary, or equivalent are a plus but not required.
  • A demonstrated heart for NextGen ministry.
  • Experience in church leadership is a plus but not required.
  • Applicant must exhibit the spiritual qualifications (where applicable) of an elder as defined in 1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Pet 5:1-3.

Reporting Structure

  • All MVCC staff report directly to the lead pastor, secondarily to the governing board, and ultimately to Christ.
  • There is freedom to lead in new directions and utilize new methods so long as all of this is in line with the vision and values of the church and sound biblical teaching.


  • The two main areas of ministry focus for the Director are Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings.
  • The two age brackets the director is responsible for are middle and high school.
  • Meet regularly with students and parents outside of regular events as time allows.
  • Communications:
    • coordinate timely email, website, and social media updates with staff, youth leaders, elders, parents, and students
    • mobilize volunteers as needed
  • Facilities
    • maintain appropriate youth spaces, prepare the space for youth events, restore them to general use space (when applicable).
    • mobilize volunteers as needed
  • Budget
    • purchase the necessary items for youth events
    • maintain the youth budget
  • Data Management
    • utilize Planning Center for service planning
    • utilize “People” to maintain attendance at youth events and to assimilate new students into the ministry
    • register students for youth events/camps
  • Integrate with Staff
    • attend staff meeting
    • submit staff reports
    • coordinate youth building needs with other church events
    • meet regularly with the Pastor to collaborate in vision and strategy
  • Special Event Planning (Summer Camps, etc.)
    • plan and implement fundraisers
    • recruit students and leaders
    • mobilize volunteer support as needed to help
    • serve as the central coordinator for all related details, registrations, and accommodations
  • Regular Youth Events
    • Tuesday Night
      • establish a gospel centric discipleship program in line with the vision and values of MVCC
      • lead the leaders meeting
      • mobilize small group leaders
      • mobilize volunteer support as needed to help with regular youth events
  • Sunday Morning
    • mobilize a Sunday morning leader and support team
    • continue planning and leading the Sunday morning time in the meantime
