Part-time Volunteer Coordinator

Description:
Anchor International is a Christ-centered nonprofit ministry helping people affected by mental
health challenges experience hope and belonging. We do this by providing faith communities
with training and programs to engage mental health, and by equipping peer volunteer group
facilitators to lead powerful support groups in their faith communities. Our facilitators are the
hands and feet of Anchor International. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting
and discipling facilitators through training, coaching, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities
● Actively recruit, onboard, train, coach, and retain volunteer group facilitators
● Provide technical support, training support, and follow-up communications to facilitators
throughout the onboarding process
● Facilitate virtual one-to-one coaching sessions with facilitators
● Host a virtual facilitator support group twice per month
● Monitor and update SmartSheet status of all facilitators
● Collect feedback from facilitators on the training process and report to the Director of
Operations with suggested changes to improve the facilitator experience
● Cultivate a sense of community among trained facilitators by providing ongoing support,
monthly check-ins as needed, and by sending a monthly email blurb
● Gather video testimonials and stories from all facilitators
● Gather group member feedback forms from facilitators and their stories of impact that
the organization can use for marketing and program evaluation
● Help with fundraising by inviting facilitators to become donors
● Pray with facilitators and provide strong encouragement as they lead their groups
● Attend local meetings and speak on behalf of the organization, as needed

Qualifications
● Abide with Christ to allow the Spirit to lead your role and the organization
● Excellent teamwork skills
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Ability to pivot with the changing needs of the organization
● Have a thorough understanding of mental health
● Public speaking skills preferred
● Experience in coaching or counseling is preferred
● Certifications in suicide intervention training and mental health first aid for adults and
youth, or willingness to obtain certifications upon hiring.
