The Big Picture

First Baptist Church (firstbaptistchurchbadaxe.com) is a turn-around-church of 55 seeking a Pastor to preach the Word of God, coach the church in reaching the lost and making disciples in our community. 

 

The Church

We are asking our next Senior Pastor to coach us in reaching those without Christ in our community. We are a turn-around-church. Forthcoming considerations would be to engage leadership development, build a ministry to men, strengthen pathways of communication inside our church, and provide confidential biblical counseling for singles, couples, and families.

 

The Community

BAD AXE is the county seat of Huron County, MI. The population was 2,961 at the 2020 census, making it the largest community in Huron County.

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate would be a man of family values, embracing our church’s vision. The Candidate should lead the Elders on our Leadership Council. The Candidate must be a graduate in good standing of an accredited college or university, preferably someone with or working toward a Master’s Degree or equivalent. The Candidate must be ordained or willing to be ordained as a Pastor by our congregation.

 

The Qualifications

He should meet the biblical qualifications of an Elder; 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4. He should be gifted in the areas of spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and truthfully interpreting Scripture through meaningful application in preaching and teaching. He should lead in worship service planning, officiate marriages and funerals, and administer the Lord’s Table and Believer’s Baptism. He should embrace our Statement of Faith as a valid expression of Christian belief. He must be a man ‘called of God,’ a man of prayer, and he must have the fruitful spiritual disciplines in his family and private life as mentioned in 2 Corinthians 4:1-18 and 1 Peter 5:1-11.
