The Program Educator implements the Safetouch program curriculum in assigned area schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaches and trains Safetouch body safety curriculum, including age and developmentally appropriate modifications, for children in grades Kindergarten to 5th grade.
  • Collects and maintains client demographic information, program service statistics and case Analyzes information and makes periodic statistical reports.
  • Stays abreast of evolving practices and community needs in Child Abuse Prevention School Programs and general outreach related to Safetouch and prevention services.
  • Provides guidance to school social workers, teachers, and administrators on responding to allegations of abuse, when necessary.
  • Provides information, as requested, regarding program activities and experiences to Program Supervisor/Director or other agency staff as needed to assist in fundraising and grant applications.
  • Assists with developing and implementing program-specific marketing strategies.
  • May provide direct service, back-up coverage for other prevention programs when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Broad knowledge of social work practice, child protection and advocacy, and human development.
  • Skills in problem solving, negotiation, decision-making and mediating conflict.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid Colorado driver’s license and a reliable and consistently available vehicle with ; and is able to regularly travel throughout the agency’s service area (Denver Metro, Greeley, Fort Collins, etc.) by way of interstate highways and primary and secondary roads, including those passing through the mountainous terrain within the state and region.
  • Must provide proof of auto liability insurance at the level of 100,000/300,000/100,000.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Human Services Field. Preference may be given to applicants with Spanish language proficiency and/or related work experience.
