Summer Camp Counselor & Activity Leader
Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center
Salary/Range: depends on experience
Our primary need is for family group counselors, though I still have a couple of openings in the kitchen.
Family group counselors work with campers to help supervise and lead activities. Groups consist of both boys and girls in age specific groupings. Groups rotate through our activities and spiritual growth experiences with a real focus on acceptance of everyone, safety, and fun. Our theme is “Getting the Most Out of Life”, which will help everyone learn how to better “experience the presence of God”. Activities include daily Bible study, worship, outdoor adventure (rock climbing, archery, low ropes course, mountain biking, hiking/backpacking, service projects, environmental education, white water rafting, canoeing/kayaking/stand up paddle boards, etc.) We have camps each week for elementary, middle school, and high school campers. We also have several camps for mixed ages of children, teens, and adults. Our counselors are college age and/or grad students from the US, Europe, and Central America. Our staff training begins May 31.
This could be a great experience for your students to practice ministry and leadership skills, meet people from all over the world, and make a difference in the lives of campers and other staff. Being a summer camp counselor when I was in college is where I confirmed God’s call to ministry upon my life. Let me know how I can get the word out to your students.
Peace be with you,
