Sonrise Mountain Ranch is a Christ-centered interdenominational retreat center in a spectacular mountain valley in southwestern Colorado. SMR’s mission is to grow “Great Commandment, Great Commission” families. SMR hosts weeklong and weekend retreats throughout the year for families and couples, encouraging them to embrace God’s design and giving them a chance to deepen relationships within their own family and with other families.

Position Description:

The Youth and Children’s Program Director provides oversight for the Youth and Children’s Program during summertime Family Retreats.  He/she reports to and work closely with the Sonrise Director (Denver Seminary Alum, Matt McGee) to insure the Youth and Children’s Program helps accomplish the overall mission of each retreat.

Primary duties:

• Develop and execute the Youth and Children’s retreat curriculum for each retreat
• Coordinate staffing for youth/children’s events
• Provide necessary training for all intern staff and volunteers to carry out program
• Procure necessary supplies for youth/children’s programming
• Assist in pre-retreat and post-retreat staff duties
• Assist the Sonrise Director in shepherding the interns
• Assist in other capacities as needed

Qualifications:

• A commitment to follow Christ
• A desire to serve the Lord in a family ministry
• College graduate
• Youth/Children’s ministry experience
• Strong communication, administration, and organization skills
• Ability to lead a small team and work with volunteers

Start Date: Must be available to start by May 17, 2023

End Date: August 15, 2023
