Supervisor / Trainer
The Mile High WorkShop is an employment social enterprise. We provide business clients with a variety of light manufacturing, assembly and sewing services. This work creates transitional employment and training opportunities for our program participants, community residents experiencing barriers to employment due to criminal backgrounds, incarceration and/or recovery from homelessness and addictions. The WorkShop provides program participants with developmental opportunities and supportive services aimed at preparing them for and facilitating their transition into permanent employment.
Role and Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee daily tasks of busy and growing production projects with little supervision, including assigning daily employee tasks, overseeing quality of final products, and managing project inventory and supplies.
Be excellent at teaching simple production skills to program participants, tactfully and effectively motivating participants towards growth and development within production and coordinating their personal & professional growth in partnership with the Program services team. This will include training, project-specific process improvement, efficiency and documentation of all of the above, performing time studies, understanding your teams’ efficiencies and skills, and setting daily goals for each participant.
It will also include completing weekly job readiness forms, giving constructive feedback in the moment regarding job-readiness skills, and holding participants accountable to our expectations and policies by having necessary and potentially uncomfortable accountability-based conversations with participants.
Effectively plan and manage client deadlines in a time sensitive setting. We often have quick turn-around times on projects, so managing participants, planning, and overseeing this effectively is important. A sense of controlled urgency is ideal.
Show attention to detail. MHW prides ourselves on sending out only quality work to our customers. This position will play a big role in making this happen. Daily this will look like checking participants’ work frequently, trouble-shooting quality control issues, and making sure participants are exhibiting quality control standards as well. Generally, this will also include creating and upholding processes that will facilitate high quality assurance.
Professional skill, process oriented, initiative and empathy are all highly valued and utilized in this position.

● Strong alignment and passion for our mission and values
● Ensuring regular input into participant performance reviews and the production tracking
system. This includes daily feedback to participants as needed to facilitate their job
● Regular input into Prodsmart (ERP) to ensure jobs are tracked and completed on time.
● Regular communication with customers on project progress and to answer any
production related questions.
● Ensuring participants are compliant with WorkShop policies and working safely.
