Volunteer Child Care/Respite Care provider
This is an opportunity to serve as a Night Lights Volunteer. Night Lights is an organization that expresses God’s love and value for children with special needs across the globe with the mission of creating a safe and accepting environment by providing respite care for children with special needs and their siblings. We rely on our volunteers heavily for our Night Lights evenings, as they are paired 1:1 with the Night Lights children, and they also help in each of the activity rooms. Volunteers may be community members who are 18 years of age or older and may include people from all professions, backgrounds, and skill levels. The requirements to volunteer are to have a passion for making the world a better place for children, training, and passing a background check. Night Lights has three locations-Arvada, Broomfield, and Littleton. If you are interested in volunteering, complete an interest form at https://nightlightskids.org/volunteer and please specify which site you want to volunteer at.
Night Lights is a 5-hour commitment one Friday night each month. We ask for volunteers to commit to at least 8 months out of the year as the number of children we can accept each Night Lights evening depends on the number of volunteers we have. The families and children appreciate seeing familiar faces. There is no therapy or work during the evening, you just need to be a buddy to a child and watch them as they play and even join in the fun. Experience is not necessary when volunteering with Night Lights, we will train you and be with you the entire evening.
