The Volunteer and Event Coordinator position leads the volunteer strategy for Joshua Station and Mile High Ministries (MHM) and coordinates community and fundraising events. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assess, implement, manage and track all elements of volunteering for Joshua Station and Mile High Ministries 
• Identify, recruit, train and engage with the Denver community for the needs of the organization while retaining current volunteer base.   
• Existing volunteer programs: 

• Community dinners 
• Spruce a Room 
• Back to School 
• Thanksgiving Potluck 
• Christmas Store 

• Service groups 
• Community Garden 
• Babysitting 
• Resident Volunteers 

• Respond daily to phone calls and emails 

• Work with Communications Director to monitor and update online postings of current volunteer positions and needs 
• Serve as representative of MHM at various outreach, volunteer recruitment, community fairs and church functions 
• Give tours of Joshua Station and Mile High Ministries 
• Work closely with Facilities Coordinator especially related to Spruce a Room and Service groups 
• Work closely with Development to establish a pathway from volunteering to donor 

• Compile volunteer related statistics for donor cultivation and internal and external reporting 
• Coordinates existing and new events with a team.  Existing events include: 
  • Peacemaker Breakfast 

• • Thanksgiving Potluck 
  • Christmas Store 

• • Volunteer Appreciation party 
  • Clara Brown Day 
  • Organization anniversary parties
