Description:

The Worship Leader is responsible for leading the worship service on Sunday mornings (and other special services) in partnership with the pastor. This is a part-time position averaging 12 hours a week. Salary is around $200/week. Vacation is flexible with an allowance to have off six Sundays/year. If more time off is desired that can be discussed/arranged. 

If you are interested in and/or already in training to become a pastor, we would be eager to help you discover, develop, and use your gifts in ministry however they might fit within our ministry.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experienced in participating and leading worship in a church or Christian setting. 
  • Competent to lead worship with one or more instruments and voice. 
  • Be a member in good standing in a church.  
  • Spiritual and emotional maturity. 
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills 
  • Competent in computer skills to create and manage slides for the worship service, use scheduling program Planning Center, and other items. 
  • Have knowledge of or be willing to learn a Reformed theology of worship. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Plan and lead worship in coordination with the pastor. 
  • Lead the team of band members 
  • Build relationships with band members 
  • Oversee weekly rehearsal 
  • Schedule for weekly services 
  • Recruit and train new members 
  • Lead the tech team. 
  • Build relationships with the members 
  • Schedule for weekly services 
  • Recruit and train new members 
  • Oversee entire sanctuary space as it pertains to the worship environment. 
  • Manage the budget for worship team.  
  • Oversee CCLI reporting. 
  • Participate as a member of the staff.  
  • Reports to the pastor in conjunction with the Council.  

 

Termination Policy:  

  • There will be a 90-day probationary period during which either party may terminate employment without cause. Following the probationary period, a minimum of two-weeks’ notice is expected. 
  • After 90 days there will be a review to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the expectation for both the worship leader/music director and the church.
