The Part-Time Worship Leader is expected to, (1) Work under the leadership and direction of the Senior Pastor, (2) Work within the framework of the ministry staff, and (3) Work in conjunction with Ministry Teams in the church.

 

Qualifications:

  • Have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Possess excellent people skills.
  • Agree to uphold the Baptist Faith and Message.
  • Ability to lead vocally on acoustic guitar or piano.
  • Possess strong teamwork and collaborative skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate weekly order of worship with the Senior Pastor.
  • Prepare music for weekly worship services (charts, transitions, etc).
  • Rehearse with worship team as needed.
  • Lead worship on Sunday mornings and other worship gatherings (i.e., Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Prayer Nights).
  • Schedule and communicate with the worship team through Planning Center.
  • Make sure sound, media, and live-stream volunteers are coordinated.
  • Recruit instrumentalists and vocalists.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Help coordinate the annual worship ministry budget.
  • Occasionally attend staff meetings.

 

The role will require 10 hours per week and provides leadership to a worship band of church volunteers that is mostly a contemporary style with some traditional hymns.  The worship band is sometimes acoustic with percussion as well as full band.  Ken Caryl Church has one Sunday morning worship service.

 

The Part-Time Worship Leader will need to be involved in the church as a member.  The expectations include being intentional in personal Bible study and prayer, making small group involvement a priority, serving through the church, and a desire to intentionally engage people who do not know Jesus.
