Riverside Church is a long standing, Christ centered community of believers located in the heart of Denver. The church campus is situated in one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the downtown area. Riverside is seeking to bring a Children’s Ministry Director who shares the church’s passion and vision to share the Gospel and who would be an integral team member as we minister to our members and our community.

The Children’s Ministry of Riverside Church aims to introduce children to Jesus and to build a foundation of faith that is vital for a lasting relationship with God.

The Children’s Director will provide direct oversight, spiritual care for children and families, leadership development and strategic vision for Riverside’s Children’s ministries (birth – 5th grade). This will include developing and maintaining a team-oriented culture with staff and an overall Christ-centered culture. The Children’s Director will work alongside the Student Pastor to build cohesive ministries to equip children and families for the transition into Student Ministry.

- Education and Experience

Degree in children’s education, children’s development or children’s ministry preferred

Minimum 2 years experience in Children’s Ministry preferred

- Requirements

Display a passion for working with children and families with the goal of reaching children with the Gospel
Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of Riverside Children’s ministry including Sunday services, Wednesday activities, children’s worship, summer camps, holiday programs, family ministry trainings, child specific discipleship, and family outreach while providing a safe and healthy environment

Work alongside the Student Pastor to build cohesive programs to help bridge children’s and student ministries
Contribute to whole church events by providing activities for children

- Leadership

Provide spiritual leadership to children and volunteers within the Children’s Ministry

Develop strong vision and work ethic

Oversee the training and care of volunteers

Actively recruit and train new volunteers

Build and maintain strong relationships with staff and ministry volunteers to lead a dynamic and thriving ministry

Possess the Spiritual gifts of Teaching and Leadership

- Communication and Administration

Provide strong communication with families, children, staff and volunteers

Review, assess and plan needed space, equipment and supplies alongside facilities team.

Plan and maintain annual children’s ministry budget

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time (Part-Time will be considered if desired.)
SALARY: Commensurate with position type, qualifications, and experience, Full-Time range starting $40,000 - $50,000 per year
