Rev. Lance Mitchell was a pastor, teacher, mentor, friend. First and foremost, he loved Jesus and wanted others to have a deep relationship with His Lord. He was a true shepherd, with a heart for mentoring and discipleship. His conversations, friendships, and activities were intentionally focused on encouraging others to pursue a life with Christ. Lance, loyal in his love for family and friends, faced deep loss but through it he consistently trusted in God’s sovereignty, His goodness, and His love.
While a student at the Seminary, Lance struggled to provide for his family. However, his perseverance and trust in Jesus had gospel impact. It is in this spirit that this scholarship was established, to help ease the burden of providing for a family while following God’s call to pursue a seminary education.
