Rev. Dr. J. D. Kim is the assistant director of the Doctor of Ministry, Korean Global Campus, KGC and an adjunct professor of theology at Denver Seminary. He joined the faculty in 2020 and has been actively involved in the field of systematic theology. Dr. Kim holds membership in the Evangelical Theological Society and is an ordained teaching elder with the EPC. Additionally, he serves as the founder of J.D. Kim Ministries, a disability ministry affiliated with Joni & Friends, and as a board member of C-Connection, a global missional organization. He passionately shares his personal story and teaches theology at both local churches and online platforms.
Dr. Kim has received a BA in psychology from the University of Colorado Denver, a MA in pastoral and spiritual care from the Iliff School of Theology, a MDiv in theology from Denver Seminary, and a PhD in systematic theology from the University of Aberdeen in the UK. His research interests are the doctrine of God and of divine impassibility, trinitarian theology, theology of suffering, disability theology, pastoral care, and Korean American spirituality.
Dr. Kim published Constructing a Mediating Theology: Affirming the Impassibility and the Passibility of the Triune God (Cascade, 2022), focusing on the doctrine of the impassibility of God, and From Walking to Wheeling: How God Reconstructed One Man’s Dream (Resource, 2023), which shares his personal testimony of finding hope in the grace and sovereignty of God. Dr. Kim actively publishes and presents his research articles at theological conferences. In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Dr. Kim maintains a blog on his website and contributes to the Korean Christian Daily, Colorado Christian Korean Newspaper, and other organizations, sharing his insights in various topics.
