In preparation for the 2024 Shannon Preaching Lectureship and Seminar, Rev. David Ward and Drs. Scott Wenig, Wendy Widder, and Matt Wolf, the team running this event, gathered to discuss the state of preaching in the modern world.

With the rapid advancement of technology and declining attendance at churches, it’s important to analyze the landscape of preaching in today’s society. What are changes that pastors could benefit from embracing? What are key components of traditional preaching that are vital to maintain? Mr. David Ward and Drs. Scott Wenig, Wendy Widder, and Matt Wolf discuss the role of preachers in attracting and engaging congregants, the impact of technology on preaching, and the importance of preaching the whole Bible.
