Tawni Jacobsen joined Denver Seminary’s faculty as an adjunct in the Counseling department in 2023. She holds an MA in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, a BA in Theology from Golgota Teológiai Föiskola in Hungary, and an associate’s in theological studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College.
Tawni is a National Certified Counselor, licensed to practice in the State of Utah as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) and in the State of Colorado as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is trained and certified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAGALA) and in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
Tawni also serves with the New Beginnings Counseling Group as a therapist and employee incentive coordinator. She works with teenagers, adults, and families dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm, grief, neurodiversity, and interpersonal/relational stress. Tawni utilizes expressive arts therapy, narrative therapy, logotherapy, social-emotional awareness training, healthy coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, experiential therapy, and trauma-informed play therapy to help her clients move toward emotional wholeness.
