One Night at His Feet is an uplifting evening of praise and celebration of the rich heritage of Black people in America hosted by Denver Seminary’s Black Church Programs. This special event will honor the historic style of worship, unique to the Black community, which has shaped our worship experience for centuries. One Night at His Feet will feature inspirational music of the “old church” as well as some from the present-day repertoire. Come experience a transformative night of joy, unity, and celebration, as we lift our voices together in honor of Black history, faith and culture.

Dr. James Mable Jr. is a dynamic worship leader, recording artist, and educator whose passion for music and ministry has taken him across the country. A native of Navasota, Texas, he earned his PhD in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University and has served in both public education and higher academia.
Dr. Mable’s musical journey has been marked by remarkable achievements, including chart-topping gospel hits such as I’m Free and It Shall Pass. His music has received Grammy and Dove Award considerations, and he has shared the stage with gospel legends like Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, and Fred Hammond. In addition to his artistry, he serves as Associate Director of Music & Arts at Reid Temple AME Church in Maryland and continues his long-standing role as Worship Leader at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.
A living testimony of faith and resilience, Dr. Mable overcame a life-altering accident that left him paralyzed for over a year, experiencing full restoration through God’s healing power. His ministry continues to inspire, bringing people into worship and deeper faith.
