Dr. Briana Ellerbe is an Administrative Director and Black Church Liaison of the Young Adult Initiative at Denver Seminary. She is also an instructor of Communication at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and a research consultant for children’s media and technology companies. Briana earned her PhD from USC Annenberg, her EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her BA from the University of Pennsylvania. She has published work in the areas of diversity in children’s television, family technology use, and – as a former gymnast of 15 years – calling for changes to the culture of gymnastics. Outside of her professional work, Briana enjoys homeschooling her three young children, spending time with her husband, Keith, and exploring new skills and hobbies like baking, piano, and writing children’s stories.
