Ken Gilson, EdD

Associate Dean for Accreditation and Administration; Registrar

Ken J. Gilson serves as Denver Seminary’s Associate Dean for Accreditation and Administration, and Registrar. His responsibilities include leading our Registrar’s team, managing the Seminary’s curriculum, assisting with strategic academic planning, and as Accreditation Liaison Office, he ensures effective communication with the Seminary’s accreditors and accountability partners – the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Association of Theological Schools (ATS).

Ken has served in higher education & graduate theological education throughout his career. Prior to Denver Seminary, he held executive roles as Assistant Provost for Academic Administration & University Registrar at Wake Forest University (NC) and Dean of Academic Records & University Registrar at Biola University & Talbot School of Theology (CA).

His pro bono work includes two terms (six years) as a Commissioner on the Council of Christian Colleges & Universities’ (CCCU) Student Academic Program Commission, advising and reviewing study abroad programs in England, Uganda, China, Jordan, and Washington, DC. He is also a volunteer on the Grand Challenges in Assessment in Higher Education project – a collaborative effort endorsed by ten professional organizations to address pressing assessment challenges in higher education.

Dr. Gilson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College (IL), a Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago Law School, and a Doctor of Education with a concentration in Educational Psychology from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. He is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE).
