Songmin Kim, MDiv

Adjunct Professor, Training and Mentoring

Songmin Kim has served students in the Training and Mentoring curriculum since 2020. He moved to Colorado from South Korea in 2007. He holds an MDiv in Pastoral Counseling from Denver Seminary, an MEd in Counseling Psychology from Keimyung University, and a BA in Economics from Yeungnam University. In addition, Songmin has research interests in the immigrant church as an insulated organization, and he has examined the potentials of immigrant churches for the hosting society with a theoretical lens of social capital and cohesion. 

Songmin’s research interest was on the immigrant church as an insulated organization. During his doctoral studies, he examined the great potentials of immigrant churches for the hosting society with a theoretical lens of social capital and cohesion. 

Songmin has worked as an educator and counselor for many churches and organizations, including the 8th U.S. Army Family Advocacy Program, the 8th U.S. Army Child and Youth services, and Big Bothers and Big Sisters of Korea (Rep. of). He also started Juwon Church in 2014 and has been pastoring ever since. 

Songmin’s ministry focuses on Christ-centered formation through teaching, reflecting, and sharing biblical truth in a small group setting. His interest in mutual growth in mentoring relationships led him to found the nonprofit organization Glocal Mission, a platform for Christians around the world to connect, encourage one another in their lives, and collaborate to do good works to make positive impacts on the world.
