Dr. Brad Strait is senior pastor at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church in Englewood, Colorado, where he has served for twelve years. Brad holds a BS in Management from the Leeds School of Business (Colorado University), an MDIV in Pastoral Counseling, and a DMin in Theology from Denver Seminary. With over thirty years of pastoral experience, Brad has served as adjunct faculty at Denver Seminary for twenty-seven years, having taught classes in Leadership, Evangelism, Counseling, and Spiritual Formation. Brad has also taught Leadership, Ethics, and Evangelism at Colorado Christian University and at several seminaries around the world.
Brad cowrote Prepare to Stand: A Persecution Study Guide with Andrew Brunson, an incarcerated pastor in Turkey. He also wrote and edited the Leadership Training Guide: A Resource for Pastors, Elders, and Churches. He has a popular blog on the everyday spiritual life called Celtic Straits at BradStrait.com.
Brad has taught and spoke in nearly forty countries, training thousands of pastors in Calcutta, Jerusalem, Ghana, Istanbul, Bangkok, Uganda, San Jose, Beijing, and Mexico City. Brad did his doctoral work on Celtic Evangelism, and he is deeply invested in mentoring, counseling, and serving as a spiritual guide for other pastors. As well, Brad serves as chairperson of the EPC National Leadership Team, his denomination’s leadership body.
He was a grief counselor on scene after Columbine High School shooting, the Aurora Theater tragedy, the 2004 tsunami in South India. He has served as chaplain for the Colorado House of Representatives, the Denver Rescue Mission, and for several police and fire departments. Prior to ministry, he spent several years as general manager for several Colorado steel and sheet metal construction companies. Brad has also acted as a paramedic firefighter, officer, and the board chairperson a local fire district. He and his wife, Cathy, have three daughters and four granddaughters.
