Reports To: Director of the Doctor of Ministry
Location: Hybrid
Pay: $20.70 – $26.79

General Statement of Job Function

This is a part-time (28 hours/week) position.
The DMin Services Specialist facilitates the implementation of the Doctor of Ministry program, processes, and policies, focusing on the highest levels of student care. This position is the service “hub” of the program, interacting with all students from initial inquiry to graduation, communicating with instructors and other constituents, managing office operations, and collaborating throughout the institution to meet program goals.

Essential Functions

This position will contribute to the overall success of the Doctor of Ministry program and its students by way of three key areas of responsibility:

Recruiting & Admissions

  • Assists with developing recruitment strategies in consultation with the Director.
  • Builds and maintains ongoing relationships with prospective students that ultimately encourages them to attend Denver Seminary.
  • Advises prospective students through the admissions process.
  • Supports incoming students as they navigate the logistics of beginning a graduate program.
  • Helps develop recruiting and promotional materials such as flyers, ads, and web pages.
  • Assists the Director in developing more effective admissions policies and procedures.

Student Services

  • Serves as primary contact for all English-speaking student questions and needs, directing to or coordinating with other departments and seminary personnel as needed. These include but are not limited to:
    • New Student Orientation
    • Registration, adding and dropping courses, withdrawals and leaves of absence
    • Academic advising
    • Intensive seminars
    • Thesis process
    • Commencement
  • Annually updates guidance materials (e.g. Academic Catalog, Instructor Handbook, website, Moodle, DMin orientation materials).

Administrative Support

  • Maintains accurate program records such as budget, accreditation assessment, DMin current students, faculty, syllabi, and thesis advisors.
  • Supervises work study.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Forms.

  • Committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ required and a lifestyle consistent with the Seminary’s Community Values and Behavioral Commitments.
  • Agreement with Denver Seminary’s statement of faith.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, phone, and writing/editing skills.
  • Ability to relate to constituents of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • A posture of care and service for all program and seminary constituents.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, set priorities, meet deadlines, follow through on projects, and handle a wide range of tasks simultaneously while paying strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technology and software to fulfill work responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods of time.
  • Individual must be a self-starter, self-directed, detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task. 
  • A commitment to maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Christian ministry, educational institutions and environments is desired.

  • Timely, friendly, knowledgeable student service, from prospective students to alumni.

  • Collaborative relationships with Denver Seminary staff, faculty, and adjunct instructors.

  • Uphold program and institutional policies and procedures.

Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climbing stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
