GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:

Coordinate and execute a wide range of events that contribute to the overall success and positive image of Denver Seminary, particularly as related to the Seminary’s 75th anniversary. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who can conceptualize, plan, and execute events that align with the Seminary’s goals, values, and brand.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Event conceptualization and planning:

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal departments, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless communication throughout process.
  • Develops and implement creative and professional concepts that align with the goals of Denver Seminary’s 75th anniversary and a variety of events.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify needs and objectives.

Logistics and coordination:

  • Coordinates all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and transportation and lodging as needed.
  • Works closely with internal team members and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of events.

Budget management:

  • Manages event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Negotiates contracts with vendors to maximize resources and achieve budgetary goals.

Communication and marketing support:

  • Collaborates with the communications and marketing teams, event hosts, and other related stakeholders to create promotional materials and strategies to increase event visibility.
  • Supports implementation of promotional materials.

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Conducts post-event evaluations to assess the success of events and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Provides detailed event reports, including key performance indicators and areas for enhancement.
  • Supports follow up communication for lead generation, donor relations, etc.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience in project and event management or related field is required. 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Developed interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible decision-making skills; able to deal with dynamic situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong detail orientation is required.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications related to project and event execution.
  • Strong writing skills, editing skills, and proofreading abilities are required. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Graphic design skills a plus.

  • Committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ required and a lifestyle consistent with the Seminary’s Community Values and Behavioral Commitments.
  • Agreement with Denver Seminary’s statement of faith.

·         Able to relate well to diverse audiences.

·         Demonstrated project management skills.

·         Able to give careful attention to administrative details, working through frequent interruptions.

·         Accepts supervision, and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

·         Ability to multitask and manage time.

·         Innovative, flexible, and able to maintain confidentiality.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
