Bethany Community Church (Grandview, WA) – Pastor
The Big Picture
Bethany Community Church (bethanygrandview.org) is seeking a Pastor who will partner with us as we grow spiritually, worship God, study His Word and do His work in our community.
Bethany Seeks to: Exalt God through inspired worship, Biblical messages, and enthusiastic praise. Equip Believers for ministry empowered by the Holy Spirit, guided by scripture, mature leadership, participation in small groups, and discovery of gifts to serve. Evangelize at Home and Abroad, serving those in need by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed. In 2012 we left the PCUSA and became members of ECO (A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. In 2020 we added services in English and in Spanish online.
Grandview, WA is a small city of about 15,000 in south central Washington located in the Yakima Valley about halfway between Yakima and the tri-cities of Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick. With an average temperature of 67 degrees, Grandview receives about 10” of rain a year with 300 days of sunshine. Grandview is known for its agriculture: apples, cherries, grapes, hops, asparagus, corn, wheat, dairy and other fruit and vegetable production. There are a number of processing plants and cold-storage facilities that support the agricultural production. There are 5 public schools and 1 parochial school, a public library, 5 city parks, a seasonal swimming pool, an 18-hole golf course and 19 churches plus a community college.
We would prefer seminary training but are also open to a lay pastor. The person needs to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the only way to eternal life with God the Father and that the Bible is the Word of God. He/She should also acknowledge and believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and active in the church and people’s lives today. The person needs to be in ECO or can affirm the Essential Tenets of the denomination. We seek a pastor who will guide us to grow spiritually as well as encourage us to become risk takers in our outreach to the community.
