The Youth Ministry Assistant is part of the Youth Ministry Department within the Congregational Life Zone. This position reports to the Pastor of Youth Ministry. The position provides creative, logistical, and administrative support for the Youth Ministry.

This is a full-time (40hr/week), hourly (non-exempt), support-staff level position with benefits.

Specific Responsibilities:

General Office Duties: Provide administrative support including, but not limited to: scheduling appointments and meetings, creating forms, checking snack/drink inventory and facilitating orders, making copies, running errands, and making/returning phone calls, emails, or other correspondence and submitting credit card reports.

Department Support: Provide creative and logistical support including, but not limited to: overseeing and maintaining communications platforms. Create “media packages” (i.e. media of different sizes, functions, and formats) for youth ministry gatherings, events, and teaching series. Communications – work with the Communications Department to produce high-quality content (graphics, pictures, videos) for gatherings, events, and communications.  Database – create and maintain systems in the church database to effectively coordinate ministry events, gatherings, and communications.

Volunteer Support – process new volunteer applications, coordinate and communicate volunteer schedules, and train volunteers assigned to production, photography/videography, and check-in. Create and maintain a seamless and effective check-in process for youth ministry gatherings and track/report attendance. Serve as event coordinator for off-site events, facilitating systems for registration, payment, reservations, ordering apparel, requesting checks, etc. Collaborate with the Youth Ministry team to creatively implement vision and strategies that lead teens to become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.  Other duties as assigned by the Pastor of Youth Ministry.

Schedule & Meetings: Schedule: M-F 8:00a-4:30p / Wed. 1:00p-9:00p with some flexibility.

Meetings: attend all required staff meetings and retreats (Weekly Staff Devos & Prayer, Annual Retreat, etc.)

Qualifications: Character A Christ honoring life marked by personal holiness, prayer, bible study, spiritual and emotional maturity and increasing dependence on the Holy Spirit (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7). Unquestionable integrity specifically in areas of handling finances, relationships and time management. A person who understands and models the Christian principle of servant-leadership. Someone who is eager, flexible and has a teachable spirit.

Competency (ideal candidate will have the following skills…) Able to manage multiple projects and work well with a variety of personnel. High organizational skills, forward-thinking in terms of planning and scheduling and works well under pressure and deadlines. Willing and able to effectively use the church database system. Solid people skills and effectively communicates with and relates to people of all ages. A self-starter who takes initiative. Volunteer management experience preferred but not required. Loves working with youth and families. Convictions In full agreement with and champions Colorado Community’s Calling, Convictions and Statement of Faith.
