Denver Seminary’s Black Church Programs invites the community to “One Night at His Feet,” an uplifting evening of praise and worship, and a celebration of the rich heritage of Black people in America. This powerful event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at Restoration Christian Fellowship in Aurora.

“One Night at His Feet” will honor historic worship style unique to the Black Church tradition, which has profoundly shaped Christian worship for centuries. The evening will feature both the soul-stirring music of the “old church” and contemporary gospel sounds.

“’One Night at His Feet’ is more than just a gathering; it’s a heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of the Black Church,” said Dr. John Moreland, director of the Black Church Programs at Denver Seminary. “This evening offers a unique opportunity to honor our rich heritage through worship and community. We invite everyone to join us in this transformative evening of joy, unity, and deep spiritual connection.”

Headlining the evening is Dr. James Mable Jr., a dynamic worship leader, recording artist, and educator known for his powerful gospel music. A native of Navasota, Texas, Dr. Mable’s inspiring journey has led him to national recognition, with hit songs like I’m Free and It Shall Pass receiving Grammy and Dove Award considerations. He currently serves as associate director of music and arts at Reid Temple AME Church in Maryland. Dr. Mable’s testimony of faith and resilience—having overcome a life-altering accident that left him paralyzed for over a year—adds depth to his ministry, making his worship leadership a truly moving experience.

In addition to Dr. Mable, the evening will feature performances by gifted local artists Mrs. Kelli Roberts and Dr. Nathaniel Black.
