Cindy Dean Named Vice President of Enrollment and Student Success at Denver Seminary

At Denver Seminary, leadership transitions are moments to reaffirm our mission and renew our vision. With a strong history of advancing theological education rooted in Scripture and service, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Dean as Vice President of Enrollment and Student Success, effective September 2025. Dean brings extensive experience in transforming enrollment operations while deepening institutional mission, most recently serving in senior leadership positions in Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success at Asbury University and Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
This appointment advances Denver Seminary’s commitment to forming graduate students who joyfully seek to participate in God’s work of redemption, healing, and renewal. Dean will lead efforts to cultivate faithful and courageous leaders equipped for vital ministry in the global Church.
“Cindy Dean embodies the principled, visionary leadership Denver Seminary needs as we advance our mission of Gospel-centered formation,” said Dr. Mark Husbands, President of Denver Seminary. “Her proven ability to transform enrollment operations while deepening institutional mission aligns perfectly with our commitment to charitable orthodoxy and redemptive leadership. Most significantly, she understands that student success encompasses the whole person—spiritual formation grounded in Scripture’s truth and beauty, academic excellence, and ministry preparation.”
Dean’s appointment comes as Denver Seminary deepens its focus on preparing leaders for the global Church, recognizing that Christianity’s center has shifted to the Global South. Her experience implementing enrollment strategies that honor both institutional sustainability and formational excellence positions the seminary to serve students from diverse cultural and ministerial contexts.
“This represents an opportunity to build upon our strengths while innovating how we support students from enrollment through graduation,” Husbands noted. “Cindy will help us measure success by the impact our graduates make through theological scholarship and ministry excellence that serves the Church’s witness in a world yearning for redemption and renewal.”
The role encompasses comprehensive oversight of student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives, reflecting Denver Seminary’s integrated approach to theological education. Dean will collaborate with faculty and student life teams to ensure students experience authentic mentorship in discerning their calling and developing the courage and passion for learning, service, and Gospel witness that characterizes the seminary’s graduates.
“I’m deeply honored to join Denver Seminary at this pivotal moment,” said Dean. “What resonates most deeply with me is the Seminary’s commitment to prepare women and men for faithful service and leadership. That mission aligns with my own passion for equipping those called to participate in God’s mission of renewal, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join students, staff and faculty in the Denver Seminary community.”
Dean’s leadership philosophy centers on viewing enrollment as vocational discernment—helping students discover how their gifts serve the Church’s mission and global engagement.
