Dr. Jennifer Powell McNutt

Dr. Jennifer Powell McNutt
Associate Professor in Biblical and Theological Studies; Director of MA in History of Christianity; Director of MA in Theology at Wheaton College

The Rev. Dr. Jennifer Powell McNutt is the Franklin S. Dyrness Associate Professor in Biblical and Theological Studies at Wheaton College, a Fellow in the Royal Historical Society, and a Parish Associate at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, IL. Dr. McNutt received her PhD in History from the University of St. Andrews (Reformation Studies Institute, 2008), MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary (2003), and a BA in Religious Studies from Westmont College (2000). Dr. McNutt’s research specializes in the history of the Church and Christian Theology from the Reformation through the Enlightenment with particular expertise in John Calvin and his clerical legacy, the Reformed tradition, the relationship between Christianity and science, and the history of the Bible and its interpretation.

Karl Helvig

Pastor Karl Helvig
Lead Pastor, Centennial Covenant Church, Littleton, CO; Adjunct Professor, Denver Seminary

Pastor Helvig holds an MA in Biblical Studies from Denver Seminary, a BA in Greek and Religion from St. Olaf College, and a graduate certificate in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College, as well as having completed significant coursework in Intercultural Studies, He is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Covenant Church. Before going into pastoral ministry, Pastor Helvig and his wife spent three years in China where they taught university English and led campus outreach and discipleship ministries. They traveled extensively throughout Asia and saw first-hand the beauty of God’s global Church, which continues to inform his ecclesiology and pastoral theology today.

Dr. Darlene Seal
Assistant Professor of New Testament, Denver Seminary

Dr. Darlene Seal is an assistant professor of New Testament at Denver Seminary. She holds a PhD in Christian theology and biblical studies: New Testament from McMaster Divinity College, a master’s degree in New Testament from Denver Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in Christian studies from Ouachita Baptist University. Dr. Seal has served as a lecturer in Greek at McMaster Divinity College and as adjunct professor at McMaster Divinity College and Denver Seminary.

Dr. Ryan Tafilowski
Assistant Professor Theology and Chair of Theology Department, Denver Seminary

Dr. Ryan Tafilowski, assistant professor of theology and chair of the Theology Department, holds a PhD in systematic theology, a master’s in theology in history from the University of Edinburgh, and a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Colorado Christian University. Prior to joining the faculty at Denver Seminary, Dr. Tafilowski served as an adjunct professor of theology at Colorado Christian University, and postgraduate instructor in theology and ecclesiastical history at the University of Edinburgh. He serves as the lead pastor at Foothills Fellowship Church in Denver and as Theologian-in-Residence at the Denver Institute for Faith and Work.
