This 3.5-day event will focus on Big Idea Expository Preaching from the Book of Psalms. 

    Dr. Longman, Distinguished Scholar and Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at Westmont College, has written over 30 books including commentaries on Genesis, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Daniel, and Nahum. Denver Seminary to Host Curt Thompson, MD, as he Leads Transformative Conference on Wisdom and Healing, April 25

Littleton, Colo. – Denver Seminary will welcome Curt Thompson, MD—renowned psychiatrist, author, and speaker—for a one-day conference on Friday, April 25. This engaging event will explore the intersection of neuroscience, human relationships, and Christian faith, equipping mental health professionals with wisdom for their practice and personal growth.

Counseling professionals can earn four continuing education hours through NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider, No. 3094 by participating in this free event*.

Thompson, co-host of The Being Known Podcast, has spent over 30 years helping people flourish by telling their stories more truly. Known for integrating deep insight with a dynamic speaking style, he explores themes of suffering, healing, and the power of story in transformation.

“In a world that often seeks to avoid suffering, Curt Thompson invites us to consider how wisdom is formed through engaging our own stories and the stories of others,” said Dr. Liz Harper, assistant professor of Counseling at Denver Seminary. “This conference will challenge mental health professionals to explore the intersection of neuroscience, faith, and healing—equipping them to go beyond therapy and guide others toward meaningful transformation.”

Learning Objectives:
Participants will:

  • Develop and apply the concept of wisdom in psychotherapy
  • Explore how memory and anticipation shape healing
  • Recognize the role of suffering in transformation
  • Examine anthropological assumptions in mental health care
